The East Carolina Council offers two camp scholarship programs for youth to apply towards their camp registration fees. The Croatan Lodge, Order of the Arrow also provides camperships annually.
Scouts attending nationally acredited high adventure programs can also sell popcorn for 50% commission without prizes and have that money go towards their camp.
Francis E. Becker Eagle Scout Scholarship:
The Francis E. Becker Eagle Scout high adventure campership program will provide funds to help pay the registration fees to nationally accredited high adventure bases including: Philmont, Northern Tier, Florida Sea Base, National and World Jamborees, and the Pamlico Sea Base. Camperships will not exceed the registration fee. Registration fees do not include the cost of transportation, food or incidentals. Camperships amounts are based on income earned by the endowment fund and the number of applicants. Dorothy and K. D. Kennedy Camp Scholarship:
Camp scholarships are open to any Scout who is registered in the East Carolina Council. Scholarships are available to cover part of the cost of Cub Scout day camp, Cub Scout resident camp, Webelos camp, Camp Boddie or the Pamlico Sea Base. Camp scholarships will be awarded based upon the financial need of the applicants and their Scouting involvement. The amount awarded to an applicant will be determined contingent upon the funds available and the number of applications received. The amount of the scholarship will not exceed the registration cost of the program and it will be deducted from the amount the applicant will pay to attend a program. Croatan Lodge 117 Camperships:
The purpose of the Order of the Arrow Campership is to provide financial assistance to those Boy Scouts who could not attend summer camp without financial help. This is not a scholarship. Due to limited resources, please submit only those names that sincerely need financial help. The troop must be registered to attend camp in order for the application to be considered. Campership forms can be obtained from www.croatan.org and are due annually on April 1st.
