EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIPS
Educational Field Trips at the PotashCorp ECO Lodge are an interactive learning experience for 1st – 12th grade students. Our educational field trips allow students to learn by providing a stimulating environment that is conducive to exploratory learning under the direction of a professional outdoor educator.
Building on the students’ need for fun and self discovery, the program correlates with curriculum guidelines while utilizing hands-on learning in an individual and class level. Programs can be utilized by all subjects, and will provide a solid point of reference for ongoing lessons and activities once back at school.
The PotashCorp ECO Lodge is the the ideal platform for your students to experience hands-on learning and to apply their classroom lessons in the out of doors. While most of our programs are centered on the environmental sciences, we do offer additional outdoor experiences such as introduction to orienteering, GPS, and team building at our low and high ropes course.
OTHER INFORMATION
Students should bring bag lunches. A dining hall with heating/air is available for meal time, and several picnic shelters are also available. A soft drink vending machine is available but can be turned off based on your school’s restrictions. Restroom facilities are on-site, and staff members are trained in first aid with first aid equipment on site. In addition to our day programs, which correlate with the North Carolina Course of Study, we also offer other programs such as nature walks, kayak ECO tours, and adventure hike. Special arrangements can be made to facilitate these activities for your class.
Educators should provide the necessary adult supervision they will need for their class and we do ask that your school collect parental/guardian permission slips.

Our program is designed for a single classroom of 20-30 students for optimal learning experience. Special arrangements will be made to accommodate an entire grade level.
