Camp Needles in the Pines is located on the beautiful East Carolina Scout Reservation, a short drive from historic Washington, NC. This one week residential camp for children with diabetes ages 8 to 14 includes activities like: swimming, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, archery, crafts, shooting sports, and improved self help skills. Camp Needles in the Pines utilizes Camp Boddie on the banks of the Pamlico River.
Camp fee is $200. Full and partial scholarships are available.

This camp is a co-educational program serving up to 50 boys and girls with diabetes
All medical supplies are provided at camp. The medical staff is made up by volunteers from the hospital, medical school, and the university. Camp Needles in the Pines is proudly sponsored by the Department of Pediatrics with the Brody School of Medicine at ECU, the ECU Medical & Health Sciences Foundation, and the Children’s Miracle Network.
