Camp Needles in the Pines

Camp Needles in the Pines, located in eastern North Carolina, is a one week residential camp for children with diabetes ages 8 to 14. Activities include swimming, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, archery, crafts, rifle range, and improved self help skills. Camp is located at Camp Boddie near Washington, NC on the Pamlico River.

Camp fee is $200. Full and partial scholarships are available.

2012 Camp Needles in the Pines will be July 22nd-28th

This camp is co-educational program serving up to 50 boys and girls with diabetes.

All medical supplies are provided at camp. The medical staff are volunteers from the hospital, medical school and university.  Camp Needles in the Pines is sponsored by the Department of Pediatrics with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, the ECU Medical & Health Sciences Foundation and the Children's Miracle Network.
